I wanted to share this weeks ago but my own lists of responsibilities has gotten longer recently and has seriously cut into what little personal time I had.
Two weeks after school had started I still saw myself carrying school supplies in the morning. Now I understand the need to have supplies and all that. I know they want to make sure that we are responsible as parents. Of course there are some parents that have their kids basically mooch off the rest of their class as the classes now tend to share. Not happy about that but I get it. We can’t have all the kids eating glue and sticking crayons in their nose except one.
What I don’t understand is why it takes so long to get me the list. It bothers me that the lists drag on and on. First home room, then art, spanish, and it continues.
Give me the list, all of the lists , and let me go to town at the store. I don’t mind buying everything but having to make trips every two to three days for school supplies definitely stresses me out.
But since Sparkle asks again and again if I got her supplies, once again I make another trip.
Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays this parent from the swift completion of his appointed lists.
We need to make sure our kids can count on us no matter how many times we have made that trip.
Let’s be remebered for delivering always and not just being postal.
